Satya comes with a rich experience of over 3 decades in the Banking and Financial Services sector.
He was the Chief Executive of Barclays Private Bank in India for more than a decade. Prior to Barclays, he was the Head of Private Banking, South East Region for ICICI Bank, Singapore He was also part of the core team that setup ICICI Direct, the largest online trading site in India.
Satya started his career in project & corporate finance and has worked in numerous functions. He has worked in debt and equity capital markets in India right from their early evolution of outcry days. He was also involved in financial restructuring of companies in distress in tyre, textiles and engineering industries.
Satya is a charter member of TiE and various other angel networks and an active angel investor. He has helped more than 20 startups across industries, including social impact investing, both in India and other countries. He is involved with various community initiatives and NGOs including the Rotary Club of Mumbai. Satya has set up a trust “Business Ecosystem Foundation” to support and mentor small and micro entrepreneurs and early stage ventures. He has also helped family boards and family advisory councils on business & family succession and strategic business issues.
Born and raised in a small village in Rajasthan, India, he has a hands-on approach to understand the issues at grass root level. He can juggle between deep tech companies and agri- businesses with ease. He is entrepreneurial by thought and emphasizes relentless focus on execution to be the real differentiator.
Satya is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India and has also undertaken Advance Management Program at Harvard Business School.
